A thriving garden starts below the surface.
Soil, Seeds, & Starting Strong is the second workshop in our Beginner Gardener Workshop Series, and it’s where intention meets action. In this hands-on session, we’ll move from planning into practice—learning the basics of soil health and seed starting while actually starting seeds together in the teaching garden.
This workshop is designed to help beginner gardeners understand why soil matters, how seeds grow, and what plants need in their earliest stages—without overwhelming science or complicated systems. You’ll learn simple, practical principles you can apply immediately, whether you’re growing in containers, raised beds, grow bags, or in-ground.
Together, we’ll explore soil basics, talk through common seed-starting questions, and guide you step-by-step through starting your own seeds—so you leave feeling confident, capable, and ready to grow.
As with all sessions in this series, this workshop is intentionally kept small to support meaningful learning, hands-on exploration, and individualized guidance. You’ll have time to ask questions, observe, and connect what you’re learning directly to your own garden space.
After participating in this in-person experience, attendees will be able to start seeds successfully at home and make informed choices about soil, setting their gardens up for strong, healthy growth from the very beginning.
Perfect for new gardeners, busy parents, and anyone who wants to build a solid foundation without overcomplicating the process.
-
Grow Where You Are With What You Have
Not everyone has acres of land—and the good news is, you don’t need them.
Simple Garden Setups for Any Space is the third workshop in our Beginner Gardener Workshop Series, designed to help you create a garden that fits your space, lifestyle, and energy level.
In this hands-on session, we explore practical ways to grow food and flowers whether you have a backyard, a patio, a balcony, or just a sunny corner. Together we’ll look at different beginner-friendly garden setups—including containers, grow bags, raised beds, and small-space layouts—and discuss how to choose the one that works best for you.
This workshop is intentionally kept small to support meaningful conversation, hands-on exploration, and individualized guidance in our teaching garden. Participants will be able to see different growing setups in action and connect what they’re learning directly to their own home environment.
After participating in this in-person experience, attendees will be able to confidently choose and design a simple garden setup that works within their space and season of life.
Perfect for beginner gardeners, renters, small-space dwellers, and anyone wanting to start growing without overcomplicating the process.

A successful garden isn’t built on constant attention—it’s built on consistency.
Plant Care Without Overwhelm is the Fourth workshop in our Beginner Gardener Workshop Series, designed to help you care for your plants confidently without daily stress, complicated routines, or burnout. In this session, we focus on creating simple care rhythms that fit into real life—especially for busy parents and full schedules.
Rather than teaching rigid rules, this workshop helps you understand what plants actually need to thrive and how to respond with intention instead of urgency. You’ll learn how to water, feed, and observe your garden in ways that are sustainable and repeatable—so plant care becomes grounding instead of overwhelming.
This workshop is intentionally kept small to allow for meaningful discussion, hands-on observation in the teaching garden, and individualized guidance. Together, we’ll look at real plants, real scenarios, and real-life solutions.
After participating in this in-person experience, attendees will be able to care for their plants with confidence, recognize early signs of stress, and create a manageable routine that supports both their garden and their well-being.
Perfect for new gardeners, busy parents, and anyone who has ever wondered if they’re “doing it right.”

Responding to Challenges With Confidence
Every garden encounters challenges. The key is learning how to respond calmly and thoughtfully.
Problem-Solving in the Garden introduces beginner gardeners to the most common issues they’ll encounter—such as pests, plant stress, and disease—and teaches simple, natural ways to address them.
Rather than focusing on harsh solutions or complicated interventions, this workshop emphasizes observation, prevention, and gentle approaches that support the garden ecosystem.
Participants will explore real examples in the teaching garden and learn how to diagnose problems before they escalate.
After attending, gardeners will be able to identify common garden challenges and respond confidently using beginner-friendly solutions.
-
Enjoying the Rewards of Your Garden
Harvest is one of the most rewarding moments in the gardening journey—but knowing when and how to harvest makes all the difference.
In Harvesting & Using What You Grow, we explore how to recognize when crops are ready, harvest them properly, and enjoy them in simple, nourishing ways.
Participants will learn practical harvesting techniques and explore ideas for incorporating fresh garden produce into everyday meals.
After participating in this workshop, gardeners will feel confident harvesting their crops at the right time and using their garden’s abundance well.
-
Preparing Your Garden for What Comes Next
Gardens move in cycles, and learning how to transition between seasons keeps them productive and healthy.
Seasonal Transitions & Garden Reset helps gardeners understand how to close one growing period and prepare for the next.
Participants will learn how to remove spent plants, refresh soil, plan seasonal transitions, and keep their garden productive year-round.
After participating, attendees will be able to confidently reset their garden for the next season without guesswork.
-
Closing the Season With Intention
A successful garden year doesn’t end with the last harvest—it ends with reflection.
Reflecting, Resting & Planning Ahead is the second to last workshop in the Beginner Gardener Workshop Series and focuses on slowing down, observing what worked, and preparing for the future.
Participants will review their gardening experiences, explore soil rest practices, and begin setting intentions for the coming year.
This session is designed to help gardeners honor the natural cycles of growth and rest while building confidence for the next season.

Turning Scraps Into Soil: The Basics of Composting
Healthy gardens begin—and continue—with healthy soil. One of the simplest and most powerful ways to build that soil is through composting.
Compost 101 introduces beginner gardeners to the fundamentals of composting and how everyday kitchen scraps and garden materials can be transformed into nutrient-rich soil for the garden.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore how composting works, what materials can be composted, and how to create a simple compost system that fits your home and lifestyle. Whether you have a backyard, a small garden space, or even just a few containers, composting can become an easy and rewarding part of your gardening rhythm.
After participating in this in-person experience, attendees will be able to start and maintain a compost system at home, reduce household waste, and create nutrient-rich material to feed their gardens naturally.
Perfect for beginner gardeners, families interested in reducing waste, and anyone curious about how to turn everyday scraps into something that supports healthy soil.
This Is The Year It Clicks.
You don’t need to do more.
You need to do it differently.
Let’s make this the year your garden feels aligned, peaceful, and productive.
Let’s make this the year gardening becomes your lifestyle.
I’ll meet you in the soil.
