A nature-inspired, play-based program for children ages 1.5 to 10 and their caregivers.

What it’s all about!

We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences in the natural world. Nature Sprouts Adventure Club offers weekly outdoor sessions that encourage curiosity, creativity, and connection — for both kids and their grown-ups. We follow the seasons, rain or shine, exploring everything from garden beds to forest trails.

A Nature-Based Outdoor Camp for Curious, Creative Kids

Step into a summer filled with fresh air, muddy hands, big discoveries, and even bigger confidence.

At Nature Sprouts Adventure Club Summer Camp, children are invited to slow down, explore the natural world, and learn through hands-on, play-based experiences in the heart of Hollybrook Park in Wendell, NC.

This fully outdoor camp is designed for young explorers to connect with nature, build friendships, and develop real-life skills—all while having an unforgettable summer.

Details: Camp days from June 15th - August 14th, Monday - Friday from 8 am - 12 pm

What We’ll Explore This Summer

Each week brings a new adventure and theme, allowing campers to dive deeper into the wonders of the natural world:

  • Nature Exploration & Observation – learning to notice, question, and explore

  • Bugs & Ecosystems – discovering the tiny creatures that keep our world thriving

  • Building & Engineering in Nature – creating with sticks, stones, and imagination

  • Pollinators & Plant Life – understanding how plants grow and who helps them

  • Water & Outdoor Science – experimenting, predicting, and discovering

  • Caring for the Earth – learning simple ways to protect our environment

  • Garden to Table – exploring where food comes from

  • Creativity in the Wild – expressing ideas through nature-based art and play

Each day includes a balance of:

  • free play and exploration

Welcome Week

Theme: Curiosity & Nature Exploration
Focus Skills: Observation, confidence outdoors, sensory awareness

During our first week of camp, we focus on helping your little explorer feel comfortable, confident, and curious in the outdoor environment. Campers will learn how to slow down, notice the details of nature, and engage their senses as they explore Hollybrook Park.

Throughout the week, children will:

  • Create their own Nature Explorer Journal

  • Go on guided sensory hikes using sight, sound, touch, and smell

  • Search for shapes, textures, and colors in nature

  • Learn about animal homes and where creatures live

  • Complete fun “explorer challenges” to build confidence

This week sets the foundation for the entire summer by encouraging curiosity, independence, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Tiny Forest Friends

Theme: Bugs, Insects & Ecosystems
Focus Skills: Gentle observation, empathy for living things, early science

This week, we shrink down into the tiny world of insects and discover just how important our smallest forest friends really are!

Campers will explore the fascinating lives of bugs, worms, and pollinators while learning how these tiny creatures help gardens, forests, and ecosystems thrive.

Throughout the week, children will:

  • Go on a bug safari using magnifying glasses

  • Learn how bees and butterflies help plants grow

  • Build their own bug hotels to support insect habitats

  • Explore the underground world of worms and soil

  • Participate in fun “Insect Olympics” games

This week helps children develop respect for living things while turning curiosity into hands-on discovery.

Get ready to build, create, and imagine! 🌳🏗

During Forest Builders week, campers will use natural materials like sticks, rocks, and leaves to design and construct their own creations. Inspired by animals like birds and beavers, children will explore how structures are built in nature and put their creativity to the test.

Campers will:

  • Build forts and shelters using natural materials

  • Design bridges and test their strength

  • Create fairy and gnome homes in the forest

  • Stack and balance rocks into nature towers

  • Work together on team building challenges

This week encourages problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration—all through hands-on outdoor play.
